As long ago as 1924, the Club introduced a public ballot whereby
the majority of Centre, No.1 and No.2 Court tickets
are sold in advance.
The Public Ballot has always been substantially oversubscribed.
Entry into the Ballot does not automatically entitle applicants
to tickets for Wimbledon, but a place in the draw for a pair of tickets.
Successful applicants are selected at random by computer. It is
not
possible to request tickets for specific days or courts, as the
day
and court offered are chosen randomly by a computerised selection
process.
2008 Public Ballot
The 2008 AELTC public ballot has now closed. No applications postmarked later than 31st December 2007 were entered into the ballot.
The first main ballot took place in January, with successful applicants notified in February. There are a number of smaller, successive ballots and applicants will be notified if successful in these ballots.
Tickets for ballot holders will be sent out from late May.
Re-sale of tickets
All tickets, excluding debentures, are strictly non-transferable
and must not be sold, nor advertised for sale, anywhere.
Tickets should NOT be purchased as gifts. They are only valid for use by the original applicant (and their guest(s) where applicable).
If you are unable to use the ticket(s) issued to you, please contact
(prior to the day of play) the organisation from whom you purchased the tickets. In many
circumstances, the AELTC, and those bodies to which it issues tickets, are able to operate
a flexible returns/refund policy.
To enter the draw for 2009 ballot you must first obtain an application
form from 1st August 2008. (Requests postmarked after 15th
December 2008 will NOT be processed.) Completed forms must be returned no later than 31st December 2008.
