New tv and radio digital broadcast service for The Championships
With a new website design reflecting the attraction and heritage of Wimbledon’s unique appeal, the All England Club’s new, enhanced live radio, TV and video broadcast service, Live @ Wimbledon, brings Wimbledon’s digital experience to life in a fresh, creative and vibrant way.
Encompassing both radio and TV, Live @ Wimbledon blends live tennis with the off-court colour of a day at The Championships, allowing fans a greater interaction and engagement on Wimbledon.com.
The TV service is live in the UK and the Americas, and available on Wimbledon.com and mobile applications. Based in a studio located on the Broadcast Centre roof overlooking the Aorangi Terrance, Live @ Wimbledon TV is presented by Annabel Croft and Mats Wilander.
Live @ Wimbledon complements, rather than competes with, existing broadcast partners to capture all the excitement from around the grounds by dropping into matches at crucial points in play (a stream of one game, per set, per match, per hour).
The studio presentation is augmented by two roving reporters who will interviews, fan interaction on the Hill in front of the large screen TV and other colour pieces such as ‘My Wimbledon Life’, bringing to life The Championships from the view of some of the people who make it all happen.
In addition the minimum of five hours live broadcasting day, viewers are able to enjoy pre-packaged content such as previews and reviews, match highlights and archive footage.
For radio listeners, the Live @ Wimbledon radio service offers an enhanced and improved version of the popular Radio Wimbledon.
Available worldwide online, and on the three local FM channels, there are three radio channels for the user to choose from: Around the Grounds, bringing the whole event to life, Centre Court, which will feature ball-by-ball commentary from Centre Court, and No.1 Court, which will feature ball-by-ball commentary from No.1 Court.
Marcus Buckland and Mary Rhodes are the lead presenters, assisted by a team of talented broadcasters, including Ian Payne, Barry Millns, Rupert Bell, Gigi Salmon and Philip Studd.
Live @ Wimbledon goes on air at 09.00hrs BST on Monday 24 June.
