We’ve been hard at work with the founder of Leon, Allegra McEvedy, to create a delicious sandwich range and a selection of home-made salads and snacking salad pots. Bringing her renowned good food to The Championships, Allegra has a passion for seasonal produce, sustainably sourced and colourful foods. This year the team behind the court side lunches included culinary experts who handpicked every ingredient to create gourmet salads and sandwiches.
Included in the range of sandwiches are smoked salmon with soft cheese, crème fraiche, cucumber, dill and lemon juice in a simit roll; roast chicken, vine ripened tomato and rosemary mayo on eight-grain, and crayfish with lemon and chilli aioli on malted wheat grain bread.
Also new this year, we have introduced four in-house salads and three vibrant snacking pots made fresh in our courtside kitchen every day. These include our signature Wimbledon coronation chicken salad with toasted almonds and apricots, a roast salmon superfood salad and a nod to the fashionable Middle East with a Lebanese freekeh and chilli feta box and a Moroccan carrot snack pot with cumin, orange and coriander.
This year, we have added several food and drink stations around the Grounds. Not only will they be selling ice-cold refreshing water to quench your thirst on the hot days, but you’ll also be able to pick up some of the ever-famous strawberries and cream.
This year, we have introduced new lunch picnics. If you want to leave the hassle of making a lunch to someone else, pick up one of our picnic rucksacks. With a selection of starters, main course, dessert, cheese and sweet treat, this is a showcase of British produce.
Sometimes you need a sweet treat to boost your energy, and our new sweet and treat kiosks are the place to go to satisfy that craving. Head to No. 4 Court to select your goody bag.
Our ever-popular Baseline Grill will this year be offering table service, giving you even more time to relax and soak up your surroundings knowing you are being looked after in good hands.
Looking for something hot on the go? This year we have introduced a new Tea Lawn Pizza Unit that will be serving all your favourite toppings on sourdough pizzas.
A range of Folkington’s juices will be available, for the first time, at this year’s Championships. Based in Sussex the family business use simple, natural ingredients and fruit from British farmers ,where possible, to create their refreshingly good juices.
Launched in 2011, Folkington’s return each year to the same growers of apples and pears to make their juices. The wild elderflowers used in the cordial and pressé are hand-picked from hedgerows in Sussex and across the Southern English countryside which are then blended with juice from freshly picked lemons grown in Sicily. Orange juice is made from Valencia oranges grown by a community of co-operative farmers in Catalonia, Spain.
The team at Dalston’s have been hard at work hand-crafting a bespoke Strawberryade for thirsty fans at this year’s tournament. A nod to a Wimbledon icon, the strawberry, the all-natural soft drink is made using local ingredients, strawberries are from Kent, and the soda is made right here in London.
Dalston’s, the hand-crafted natural soft drinks brand, based in East London, started in 2012 by former chef Duncan O’Brian who wanted to create alternative soft drinks.
