Safety and security at The Championships 2026
Security of The Championships and the safety of all our vistors and guests is paramount.
Our operations are in place to ensure the wellbeing of our local community and all visitors to Wimbledon, working closely with the Metropolitan Police Service, National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) and other agencies, continually reviewing our procedures to ensure we are following best practice.
The All England Club and our Community Sport Centres are monitored by our Operation Centre using 24/7 CCTV, vehicle deployment and frequent but irregular foot and dog patrols.
The All England Club employs technology that tracks, locates the launch site, and provides other details of drones flying in the vicinity of the Grounds, enabling us to share this information directly with the Metropolitan Police Service for further investigation. It is one element of the many parts that make up our integrated security threat assessment and mitigation plans.
Please read the information below regarding prohibited items, traffic management, left luggage and lost property services, as well as our Conditions of Entry for this year’s Championships.
We ask all guests to be prepared to have their bags searched on arrival at the entry gates. Bags should be no bigger than aircraft cabin size: 40cm x 30cm x 30cm. Please ensure you have read the list of prohibited items before arriving at the Grounds.
We reserve the right to amend this list periodically. You will be offered the opportunity to leave any items safely in our left luggage facilities.
Please assist our team by not leaving any personal belongings unattended. We ask all guests to always remain vigilant and please report any suspicious items or activity to a member of the team.
In collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Counter Terroism Unit, temporary restrictions to parts of Church, Somerset, Bathgate and Burghley Roads will be in operation from Monday 29 June - Sunday 12 July for the protection of our local community and those who attend The Championships.
We therefore encourage all guests to check their travel and parking arrangements ahead of their visit to The Championships.
Facilities for depositing luggage are only available outside the Grounds. All bags will be searched before being accepted into the facilities and are charged at £1; proceeds are donated towards improving facilities in Wimbledon Park.
This service operates in three locations: Somerset Road, inside AELTC Wimbledon Park opposite Gate 3, and Car Park 10 on Wimbledon Park Road.

The use of photographic equipment must not inconvenience any other person in the Grounds. Spectators are advised that the use of flash photography from the stands is strictly forbidden. Please note it is not permitted for spectators to bring camera lenses over 300mm when extended, tripods or monopods into the Grounds.
Still photographs, film, video tape and other audio/visual material recorded within the Grounds may not be sold or used commercially in any way whatsoever, unless authorised by the AELTC and may be confiscated by the AELTC if such sale or commercial use is suspected.
AELTC shall own all intellectual property rights in materials taken or recorded in the Grounds.
Entry to the Grounds requires a valid ticket, authorised voucher or accreditation pass issued by or on behalf of The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited (“AELTC”).
This must be retained at all times and implies acceptance of the following conditions which have been established for the safety and enjoyment of all our visitors and may be amended from time to time.
