Estate Director

Background

Founded in 1868, The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) is a private members’ club which also organises and stages The Championships, Wimbledon. The AELTC’s aim is for The Championships to continue to be recognised as the world’s premier tennis tournament and as one of the world’s greatest sporting events. 

This is a new role taking responsibility for all buildings and services on the estate, and the job holder will be a key figure in the implementation of a new long term strategic development plan for the grounds. 

 

The role

Reports to the Chief Executive and is a member of the Executive team.

A pivotal figure at Executive level, overseeing all current and future property requirements, leading a team of over 30 direct employees dedicated to running buildings and services, and driving the planning and delivery of building projects.

Ensure buildings and stadia are presented and maintained to the highest standards all year and meet the demanding schedule of The Championships.

Cultivate best practices and promote an environment of continuous improvement, in particular around critical areas such as sustainability and health & safety.

 

 

The candidate

Successful track record of delivering major building projects, managing professional teams internally and third party contractors externally.

Experience of leading property and facilities management operations to the highest levels of quality.

Excellent communication skills with an ability to relate to a wide range of stakeholders.

Professional qualification in related property and/or construction discipline.

A strong leader and relationship manager, with a keen interest in sport an advantage.
