Retail Staffing Manager (Fixed Term Contract)

The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited ("AELTC") is looking to recruit a Retail Staffing Manager to join our Retail team on a fixed term contract until mid-August 2018.

Founded in 1868, The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) is a private members' club which organises and stages The Championships, Wimbledon.

The Wimbledon Shop offers something for everyone to commemorate their visit to the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Operating one shop year round, welcoming circa 90,000 visitors, the retail operation then grows ten-fold during the Fortnight with three major outlets and seven express shops across the site, manned by nearly 300 Championships staff.

Whether it’s the new Wimbledon Apparel Collections for men, women and children, the iconic Championships towels, the official tennis ball or something for your home, our primarily in-house designed merchandise is led by our core values of heritage and excellence, putting emphasis upon the highest quality materials, latest trends, fits and colour palettes that echo the unmatched standards found across all aspects of The Championships.

As Retail Staffing Manager, you will be responsible for the management, coordination and administration of approximately 250 temporary staff who will be working in the retail outlets at Wimbledon 2018. Duties will include managing the recruitment process, sending out offer letters and information packs, managing payment of staff, organising assessment days, training days and rotas and handling a wide variety of queries prior to and during The Championships 2018.

You'll need to have experience of working in an administrative role and ideally have some management and HR operations experience. You must also be able to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, have excellent written, verbal and presentational communication skills, be highly organised and be able to juggle multiple priorities in a very fast-paced environment.

You will be required to work long hours for the two or three weeks prior to The Championships and for the entire Tournament. Ideally, you will be able to commence work immediately and must be available until mid-August 2018.
