Richard Gasquet talks German shepherds, Roland Garros and Zinedine Zidane...

Q: What are your main interests outside of tennis?
RG: I like soccer a lot and I’m a big fan of Paris Saint Germain.

Q: Who were your idols when you were growing up?
RG: No idols, I had people I admired like Zidane when he won the World Cup but no idols.

Q: What music are you into?
RG: I like a lot of French music like David Guetta, he is a big artist at the moment.

Q: What is your favourite film?
RG: Le Grand Bleu. It’s a very famous French film.

Q: If you weren’t a professional tennis player, what would you like to do?
RG: I really don’t know, it is tough to say but maybe I would like to be a soccer player.

Q: Would you rather win Wimbledon or Roland Garros?
RG: I would prefer to win at Roland Garros because it’s in Paris where my friends and family are so it’s normal to prefer to win there in front of the French crowd.

Q: What is your favourite animal?
RG: Dog. My parents have a dog so it would be nice to have one too when I’m older.

Q: What type of dog would you like to have?
RG: German shepherd.

20:08It brings me no pleasure but it's time to bring the curtain down for another year. Seemed somehow appropriate to leave the last word to Roger Federer. Thanks a billion for reading. What a fortnight, what a final, fast forward to 2015 please...

20:03"I already have seven. It's not like I need another one. But it would have been awfully nice to have it. I think that's what the feeling was of the people, and I felt that... I know they love tennis. They love tennis after we're all gone."
