AELTC Chairman switches on Southfields Christmas lights

AELTC Chairman Philip Brook with Southfields residents
Tuesday 4 December 2012

Christmas came to the Wimbledon vicinity this week as AELTC Chairman Philip Brook switched on the Christmas lights in Southfields. In an inaugural ceremony, the lights, the result of a partnership between the AELTC and Southfields Business Association, drew quite a crowd on a chilly December evening.

"2012 marked 90 years of shared history between Southfields village and The Championships and we are pleased to be broadening our support for the local community in this way," Brook said.

Further festive celebrations are due to take place later in the month when children visiting the Southfields area on 15th December will be able to meet Father Christmas.
