STATEMENT FROM A WIMBLEDON SPOKESPERSON CONCERNING THE CHAMPIONSHIPS’ WATERING POLICY
London, UK: “Wimbledon is committed to playing its part to conserve water supplies and minimise usage where possible. Within that framework, in addition to implementing ways of reducing our non-essential water consumption, we will be working with Thames Water to ensure that our grass courts can still be prepared and maintained to the usual high standards expected of The Championships and, in 2012, the Olympic tennis event.”
