Biography

The Harrison household has tennis running through its veins. Ryan Harrison's father, Pat, played collegiate tennis at Oklahoma State and Mississipi before enjoying a brief professional career on the futures and challengers circuits. Ryan's brother, Christian, is also an emerging young tennis player. Harrison is known for his big-serve and explosive forehand, which has been carefully crafted at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy since 2008. Harrison has yet to record a significant win or breakthrough in Grand Slam competition, though, he is one of a new breed of American tennis players combining athleticism and power.

Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for us Brits to raise a toast to Andy Murray and Fred Perry. British sporting legends both.

20:19It was the wackiest of Wimbledons with the most unlikely of headline-makers: Sergiy Stakhovsky, Steve Darcis, Michelle Larcher de Brito, Kimiko-Date Krumm, Jerzy Janowicz, Sabine Lisicki, Marion Bartoli...
