Biography

John Isner's name is inscribed on a plaque on Court 18 at Wimbledon commemorating his role in the longest match in the history of tennis during The 2010 Championships. He defeated Nicolas Mahut in a marathon match, which lasted 11 hours and five minutes over the course of three days. Isner's colossal serve helped him rise to a career-high of No.9 in the world in March last year, and he has beaten the likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the past. One of Isner's two elder brothers is a teaching tennis professional.
