Biography

Yaroslava Shvedova began playing tennis seriously at the age of eight and has been coached by her father Vyacheslav throughout her career. Interestingly her mother, Nurziya, was a professional runner and world champion in the 100km marathon. Shvedova, aged 25, trains at the National Tennis Center in Astana, Kazakhstan and at the CSKA club in Moscow, Russia.
