Biography

Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova began playing tennis at the age of six and both her parents competed in professional sport. The 21-year-old's mother, Marina, was a former swimmer and her father, Sergey, was a coneist. Pavlyuchenkova reached the quarter-finals of both the French Open and US Open in 2011, and favours the red clay. Behind the scenes, Pavlyuchenkova is coached by former Wimbledon champion Martina Hingis, has Mathieu Wagner as a fitness coach and Sven Groenefeld and Darren Cahill as coaches throughout tournaments.
