Biography

Melanie Oudin's grandmother introduced her to tennis, and at the age of seven, she started to play with her twin sister at courts in their hometown of Marietta, Georgia. The American's key breakthrough happened at Wimbledon in 2009. From qualifying, Oudin defeated former world number one, Jelena Jankovic en-route to the fourth round. Later that year, she reached the quarter-finals of the US Open.
