Tough opener for Russia |

|
Friday, 28 September, 2007 Top seeds Russia have been drawn against Serbia in the first round of the 2008 Davis Cup. The Russians, who will meet the USA in the final of the 2007 edition at the end of November, face a tough challenge on home soil from the up-and-coming Serbians, who crushed Australia 4-1 in the play-offs to reach the World Group. The USA, meanwhile, have been handed an equally-tough task as they have to travel to Austria to face the conquerors of Brazil. This year's beaten semi-finalists, Sweden and Germany, have been handed slightly easier opponents, with the Swedes travelling to Israel and the Germans at home to Korea. Spain, the 2004 champions, travel to Peru, while Romania take on France at home and Belgium travel to the Czech Republic. PA Sport
