Richard Gasquet completed a 6-3 6-4 victory over number eight seed Olivier Rochus on Sunday to win the Kingfisher Airlines Open in Mumbai.

In capturing his first hardcourt title, the top-seeded Frenchman did not lose a set and dropped only 20 games en route to his fifth career singles crown.

It was also Gasquet's first title since winning in Lyon last October.

"I'm very happy to have won a title on hard court. I had won on grass, clay and indoor (synthetic), so it shows I can play on every court, which is very important for me," said Gasquet.

"It's my first title of the year and my first title in India, so I will have great memories of this tournament for sure."
