Venus into last four

Saturday, 29 September, 2007

Venus Williams eased into the last four of the Korea Open with a straight-sets victory over Marta Domachowska on Friday.

The top-seeded American has yet to drop a set in Seoul, and once more outclassed her opponent as she raced to a 6-2 6-3 win over the Pole.

Williams will now face unseeded Flavia Pennetta in the semi-finals after the Italian recorded an equally impressive 6-1 6-2 result against Ayumi Morita of Japan.

Fifth seed Eleni Daniilidou will line up in the other semi-final after Agnes Szavay was forced to retire from their quarter-final clash through injury.

The match was level at one set all when the second-seeded Hungarian pulled out.

Daniilidou will face Maria Kirilenko in the last four, the Russian rattling off a 6-3 6-0 victory over Catalina Castano.
