Marc Gicquel is one win away from his first ATP Tour title.
The 29-year-old Gicquel advanced to his first career final with a 6-4 1-6 7-6 (7-5) triumph over seventh-seeded Belgian Xavier Malisse on Saturday at the Lyon Tennis Grand Prix.
A native of France, Gicquel was facing Malisse, who has one career crown, for the first time.
Fans at the $850,000 indoor event will be guaranteed an all-French final, as No. 4 Richard Gasquet was facing the unseeded Arnaud Clement in the second semi-final.
Clement had won their two career matchups, both earlier this year.
Both Gasquet and Clement have two titles this season. Clement has four career crowns and Gasquet three.
