Andy Murray will take on world number one Roger Federer in the first round of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships, which begin on Monday.

Murray, the world number 12, has won tour events in Qatar and Marseille this year but he has also suffered first-round defeats at the Australian Open and the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

The pair have met on two occasions - Federer claimed victory in Bangkok in 2005 before the Scot made it 1-1 thanks to his win at last year's Cincinnati Masters.
