Pennetta on course for Acapulco final |

Friday, 29 February, 2008 Top seed Flavia Pennetta produced a battling performance to record a 7-6 (7/4) 6-1 victory over eighth seed Edina Gallovits in the last eight of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel event. The 2005 champion will take on seventh seed Kaia Kanepi of Estonia for a place in the final. Kanepi also needed three sets to see off Sorana Cirstea of Romania 6-2 4-6 7-6 (8/6). Second seed Alize Cornet defeated Mariya Koryttseva 6-4 6-0 to set up a semi-final showdown with Jill Craybas, who overcame Iveta Benesova 6-4 6-1. PA Sport
