From a garden pursuit to the power game we recognise today, discover just how much technology has shaped the modern game of tennis.
The Education Department has a fine collection of replica and real costumes allowing students to chart the progression of tennis attire from the early days of woollen outfits to the more technical fibres used today. With the aid of our collection of vintage rackets, strings and tennis balls, students will discover how the constant re-designing and refining of these three simple things continues to push the technology of the sport forward.
All students will receive a free pack of supporting material which reinforces and expands upon the information given in the talk.
The programme has been designed to enable students to examine the principles of customer service and why it is important to the Museum.
The visit explores how customer service is integral to a successful business and therefore impacts at every level. Using the Museum as a case study the talk also explores how we aim to meet the needs of all our customers, including those with specific access requirements. Using role play students are given the opportunity to see how good or bad customer service can affect the outcome of different scenarios.
All students receive a free pack of supporting material which reinforces and expands upon the information given in the talk.
Using the Museum as a case study this workshop examines the principles of Marketing and how they can be used to support and develop a business.
During the visit students learn how the Museum puts the 4Ps into practice to develop its own marketing mix. With the unique relationship between The Championships and the Museum so integral to the operation, students will discover the constraints and opportunities this presents in marketing an attraction. Following the discussion, students will have the opportunity to evaluate current marketing materials produced by the Museum.
All students will receive a free pack of supporting material which reinforces and expands upon the information given in the talk.
