Almost £2 million is distributed annually through our grant funds to organisations in the London boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth who play a vital role in meeting social needs and reducing inequalities in our local community.
We also have long-term partnerships nationally with Youth Sport Trust and internationally with the British Red Cross and WaterAid.
We ask all organisations applying to our grant funds to meet core eligibility criteria outlined below. Each grant fund also has specific criteria and themes detailed in the fund guidelines linked under each fund below
At present, all of our Grant Funds are closed to new applications. If you would like to be notified when a particular Fund opens, please sign up here.
If you wish to make a charitable or community request, please contact the Wimbledon Foundation here.
Please note, the Foundation receives many hundreds of requests throughout the year, each and every one for a worthwhile cause. We are therefore unable to fulfil all requests, and we prioritise our support to the London boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth.
As public demand for Wimbledon tickets continues to be oversubscribed, we regret that we cannot provide tickets as prizes or make individual allocations of tickets.

The first stage of our assessment process is to review all applications and create a shortlist to take forward to the next stage. We shortlist applications against the following criteria:

After the assessment stage, the strongest applications are taken to a grant panel where the final decision is made about where to allocate funding. Our grant panels are made up of two Wimbledon Foundation Trustees and two to three independent contributors with expert knowledge of the sector for that grant fund. The panel is supported by the Wimbledon Foundation’s Grants & Community Officer and Grants & Community Manager.
