With a core focus on history, technology and business, Wimbledon’s award-winning Learning Programme is a fantastic way for schools, colleges, and universities to discover the magic of Wimbledon and its impact on a global scale.
All visits are fully hosted by our Learning team and include a workshop or lecture, a Museum visit, and a tour of the Grounds. Due to extensive renovations across the site, the tour is subject to change. A visit typically lasts from 10am until 2pm and includes the use of our packed lunch space We can accommodate a maximum of 35 pupils per group. The Learning Programme runs from September to May, in line with the academic year.

Please note that Wimbledon's Learning Programme does not operate onsite during The Championships period. If your school is interested in visiting The Championships, please see below for information enter the LTA Youth School Ballot.
Since 1920, the LTA has worked in partnership with the AELTC to stage The Championships.
In addition to giving young people from across the country the opportunity to experience The Championships through the Schools Ballot, the LTA is working extensively to enhance tennis in schools through the LTA Youth Schools programme.
With free programmes that are designed specifically for schools to support the curriculum and wider school outcomes, the tennis for schools programme brings together inclusive PE lesson plans, personal development resources, teacher training and more. It has been designed by teachers, for teachers. Find out more about the LTA.
Groups visiting the Learning Programme enter via Gate 4 on Church Road. At Gate 4 you will be greeted by members of Security who will need to carry out routine inspections of bags on arrival. Members of the Learning team will then meet you to provide an orientation to your visit.
By London Underground
Southfields Station (District Line) – 15 mins walk to the Grounds.
Wimbledon Station (District Line, South Western Railway, and London Trams) – 20 mins walk to the Grounds.
Wimbledon Park Station (District Line) – 25 mins walk to the Grounds.
All have step-free access.
By Bus
The 493 bus service links Wimbledon Station (District Line, South Western Railway, and London Trams) and Southfields Station to the Museum.
The 493 service often runs as a single deck bus mostly with wheelchair access. The bus stop is called ‘Wimbledon Tennis Club and Museum’.
The bus stops are immediately outside the Museum (Gate 4).
By Taxi
Drop-off and pick-up points outside the Museum (Gate 4).
By Car
Please use SW19 5AG to locate the Museum via sat nav. Please contact learning@aeltc.com to enquire about the availability of Blue Badge parking. We are unable to offer onsite parking.

If you have obtained tickets to The Championships through the LTA Schools Ballot, you will be advised with your booking on what gate to enter, as well as where your drop off and pick up should be. Please note that all coaches/minibuses bookings must be made in advance via the AA on 0330 041 3677.
