Buying debenture tickets for The Championships

Tickets with the word ‘Debenture’ on them, in place of the price, are the only Championships tickets that can be legally transferred or sold on. Debenture tickets, for Wimbledon, can only be sold and purchased on the open market.

Centre Court debenture seats are located between rows A-N.

No.1 Court debenture seats are located between rows A-Q.

Debenture holders are allocated the same seat numbers for the duration of each Championships but in a different location for each of the five years of the series. This is to ensure an equitable allocation of seat locations over the lifetime of the debenture.

Buying Debenture tickets through secondary ticketing websites

Please be aware that the law requires that sellers (where they have the details available to them) list full details, including seat numbers, of any tickets which they advertise on secondary ticketing websites.

While these provisions do not restrict the ability for debenture tickets to be sold on these websites prior to receiving them from the AELTC, it is a requirement to list full ticket details after they have been received. Seat details are made available to debenture holders in February each year.

Any debenture ticket details listed on any site prior to being issued by the AELTC cannot be relied upon to be correct.

We advise debenture holders to keep a record of the people to whom tickets are sold.

Debenture ticket Terms & Conditions

1. Debenture tickets are subject to the AELTC’s Conditions of Entry to the Grounds of The Championships from time to time (including any other conditions such as those relating to Covid), and the AELTC’s Ticket Terms and Conditions, the current versions of which can be found here and here. Notwithstanding any other terms or conditions applicable to the debenture tickets, neither The All England Lawn Tennis Ground plc nor the AELTC shall have any liability to pay any refunds or such other amounts in respect of debenture tickets if a debenture ticket holder has failed to adhere to such conditions.
2. Debenture tickets may not be used by any person who is or who is deemed to be an Excluded Person. For these purposes, an “Excluded Person” is any person: (a) refused entry to The Championships (or any other event sanctioned by the Association of Tennis Professionals (“ATP”), Women’s Tennis Association (“WTA”) or the International Tennis Federation (“ITF”)); (b) ejected from the Grounds (or the grounds of any other ATP, WTA or ITF sanctioned event); (c) banned by a tennis governing body in any jurisdiction; (d) subject to a ban issued by the AELTC; and/or (e) who has had their accreditation withdrawn by the AELTC.
3. Holders of debenture tickets who have accessibility seating needs should contact the Debenture Office as soon as practicable to ensure that, as far as reasonably possible, the AELTC can accommodate those accessibility requirements.
4. One debenture ticket obtains one person entry to the Grounds and cannot be passed to another person outside the Grounds when the holder of the ticket leaves.
5. Upon entry into the Grounds, a debenture ticket holder shall comply with all instructions and guidelines issued by safety personnel, stewards and/or police and/or any other duly authorised persons at the Grounds.
6. Tickets allocated to debenture ticket holders are for the court specified on the date shown and entitle the holder to entrance to that court. Ticket holders have no entitlement to view any particular match or round of matches or any particular player. Matches may be moved from one court to another at the sole discretion of the AELTC.
7. If less than one hour’s play takes place on Centre Court or No.1 Court on any individual day, a refund of the Face Value of the ticket will be provided in respect of that date. If there is more than one hour’s play, but less than two hours’ play, refunds will be limited to half of the Face Value of the debenture ticket in respect of that day.
8. Tickets with the word ‘Debenture’ on them in place of the price may be legally transferred or sold on.
9. Debenture tickets shall not be:
   a. used for any promotion, advertising, fundraising, auction, raffle or any other similar commercial or non-commercial purposes;
   b. used as a prize (or part of a prize) in any contest, competition, (promotional) game of chance, lottery or sweepstake;
   c. combined with and sold or transferred as part of any package of goods or services; or
   d. combined with and sold as part of any travel or hospitality package (for example combining flights, hotels and debenture tickets).
10. Where the debenture tickets are promoted and/or sold as a package with any on-site reservation, suite or restaurant within the Grounds, the following wording shall be prominently displayed with said promotion: “While we sell Debenture Tickets, please note that we are not an official hospitality provider to the AELTC or The Championships”.
11. Holders of debenture tickets shall not:
    a. run any advertisements or promotions relating to the AELTC or The Championships;
    b. advertise, promote, give away, distribute, sell or offer for sale any product or service from any part of the Grounds or via the display of overt commercial, promotional or marketing messages on clothing worn or items brought into the Grounds; or
    c. exploit any marketing or promotional opportunities in relation to debenture tickets.
