Food & Drink is a central element of the overall sustainability ambitions of the All England Club. We believe that the All England Club and The Championships, along with other major sporting bodies and events, has a meaningful role to play in helping to protect the environment, today and for the future.
As we continue in the pursuit of these ambitions, we wanted to share just some of the key initiatives and milestones we have introduced.
With the support of our official partners, reusable cups are used across The Championships, as part of our continued commitment to tackle single-use plastic waste.
The cups, which are used for all takeaway drinks across the Grounds, require a £1 deposit. This deposit can be reclaimed by returning your cup to a designated bar or donated to the Wimbledon Foundation by returning your cup to one of the bespoke charity return points located across the Grounds.
By supporting this circular initiative, our guests are helping to avoid creating half a million pieces of single use plastic.
We are delighted to share that as a result of this initiative over, £269,000 has been donated to the Wimbledon Foundation.
We take great care selecting high quality ingredients which showcase the finest seasonal British produce.
Since 2021, no ingredients have arrived with us at The Championships by airfreight, to support with our continuous efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.
The strawberries, so synonymous with The Championships and grown just 31.5 miles away will be served in boxes made using Notpla disappearing packaging in line with endeavours to remove all single-use plastic from the Grounds. This seaweed based packaging makes the box we serve our iconic berry in 100% biodegradable.
We buy only free-range eggs, use only Fairtrade sugar and are committed to the Sustainable Fish Cities campaign.

As part of our sustainability journey, we are proud to offer more carbon conscious choices within our food and drink offer across The Championships. We measure the carbon weighting of each of our dishes across all menus. All dishes are measured and given a grade from A to E, where A is Very Low impact and E is Very High impact. This grade is based on how much carbon is used to make 1kg and considers the entire life cycle of the ingredients used to create each dish.
In order to allow our guests to make climate conscious choices, we have highlighted the dishes rated A and B (Very Low and Low) options on each menu. However, a rating and the detail behind all of the dishes is available via a QR code located on each menu.

For The Championships 2025, following in the footsteps of our iconic Strawberies and Cream box, all sandwich packaging will now be biodegradable and plastic-free.
This initiative has been undertaken in partnership with Notpla, an Earthshot Prize winning collection of regenerative packaging materials made from seaweed and plants.
