The Wimbledon Food Charter is our commitment to help deliver a world class food and drink offering that champions ethical initiatives to ensure our guests have a premium experience while ensuring The Championships' and our suppliers' future.
The role of food and drink in building The Championships' unique identity cannot be overestimated. And whilst we remain committed to preserving this history at Wimbledon, we are also constantly striving to improve every step of the food and drink experience for our guests. Our approach focuses on three key pillars: Our Ingredients, Our People and Our Environment.
QUALITY - Using ingredients sourced, grown and often produced specifically for us, choosing ingredients for their flavour and never compromising on quality
PROVENANCE - The best of seasonal, British produce sourced across the UK, alongside authentic world ingredients. Our famous strawberries come from Kent, just 31.5 miles away as the crow flies.
CHOICE - Committed to offering an increased selection of plant-based, vegetarian, organic and gluten-free options for The Championships 2026.
GROWING THE FUTURE – Partnerships with local culinary and hospitality colleges to nurture and develop future talent together with industry programmes such as Women in Food to support equality.
TRENDS & RESEARCH - Visiting suppliers, food markets and concept restaurants to ensure our offering remains wide ranging, relevant and reflects dining trends.
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT - With tastings, dress rehearsals and specialist training days we ensure our teams are supported, knowledgeable and confident in what they do and how they deliver.
RESPONSIBLE SOURCING - We work with our suppliers to ensure the very best for our guests, environment and ingredients. We buy only free-range eggs, use only Fairtrade sugar and are committed to the Sustainable Fish Cities campaign.
ECOLOGICALLY MINDFUL - We ensure that all waste from our Food & Drink operation is either recycled or utilised in a waste for energy programme, we look to use increased levels of recycled material in all our packaging wherever possible.
COMMUNITY - We have partnered with food rescue organisation City Harvest to ensure food is not wasted and instead redistributed locally. We also make donations seasonally to local food banks within the community; in 2023 the AELTC sponsored 'Vandy Murray', one of City Harvest's food donation vans.
